Letter written by James Fortescue to James Caldwell.

The Lives and Afterlives of Letters network centres on the study of correspondence and was established by a group of JRRI research associates, PhD students and postdoctoral fellows. The aim of the project is to bring together academic researchers and library professionals through a series of events beginning in 2017-18, to debate issues surrounding the use of personal correspondence as research materials.

The project is jointly funded by a John Rylands Research Institute collaboration grant and a grant from the Research Network Fund from the School of Arts, Languages and Cultures.
