Imogen is an AHRC-funded second-year PhD student. Her research focuses on the influence of the cinema on British poetry in the 1930s and 1940s. Using the archives of four marginal writers, Dawson Jackson, ASJ Tessimond, H.D. and Lynette Roberts, Imogen is considering the ways in which the poetry from the interwar and Second World War period can be seen to respond to and reflect a new form of cinematic vision.

Imogen completed an MA in English and American Studies at The University of Manchester in 2015, focusing her dissertation on British and American Countercultural poets in the 1950s and 1960s.
